Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Clinical Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of human movement. By examining how your body moves, we identify weak areas that may be the root cause of chronic pain, stiffness and increased risk of repeated injury. We assess and develop short & long term training plans based on our initial assessment.

Osteoporosis BoneFit Trained Kinesiologists

Both Kinesiologists have taken the Bone Fit™ Clinical workshop. This two day workshop provided safe, effective, evidence-based exercises to create a continuum of care for people living with Osteoporosis. After your initial visit, your first 5 sessions are $50 for a 45 minute session. There is a lot of personalized exercise modification and cueing that we provide at each session.

Julie holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Physical & Health Education (Queen’s University, 2005) and has 18 years of experience working in the health & fitness industry in various settings. Here is her personal experience with movement and exercise.

As a former competitive athlete, hiking and back country canoeing enthusiast, I learned to push my body to it’s limits - not always safely. First it was an ankle sprain, then another ankle sprain (no big deal right?). Then I suffered a devastating knee injury that required surgery and took me away from playing my favorite sport soccer. Not being able to do what you enjoy because of an injury or surgery is life changing. Ever heard someone say, “My body has never been the same since…”?

My past health & exercise history has lead me to specialize in corrective exercise programming that aims to prevent injuries and treat chronic pain. Corrective exercise programming reduces pain, restores function and gives you a resilient body that is ready to tackle challenges.

Hi I’m Mike Bitel I am a Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

I have grown up playing soccer here in London, Ontario. I developed a passion for the sport and managed to experience great opportunities as an elite level athlete (varsity, semi-professional and professional academy and trial experiences). Due to my passion for sports and exercise, I pursued an education in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology at Western University. My interests are in developing physical fitness in high level athletes and strengthening all individuals to perform better in their daily lives. I’m a believer of building a strong lower body or base which I think helps people move better and become stronger.

Furthermore, with my research experience in aerobic and anaerobic fitness, I have strong knowledge to help individuals achieve their fitness goals in endurance such as going for long walks, runs or participating in events such as marathons.

As a Registered Kinesiologist, personal trainer and soccer coach, I have worked with a wide range of youth and adult populations in developing training/treatment programs, where I motivated individuals to adopt healthy exercise routines and eating habits that built confidence, developed skills (not only physical skills, but also time management and stress management skills) and improved overall well-being. During my interactions with clients I take the time to learn and understand the many factors affecting their decisions around exercise and dietary behaviour to help develop training/treatment programs.

My goal at Align is to prescribe exercises that bring value and set-up individuals for long-term success. Building stronger and more confident versions of themselves.
